My Rods

One of the oldest materials known to man for making fishing rods is bamboo. It is also the most organic, ecologically friendly material, where practically no industry is needed for its production. I, along with many other connoisseurs of fishing equipment believe it is one of the best materials for the production of high class fly rods. No other material, not even modern fiberglass, can replace the silky smoothness of flexing and fluidity of a split cane rod cast. This is why bamboo is my favorite material for making my fly fishing rods. In the construction of my rods, I use old proven tapers, sometimes slightly modifying them when I feel they can be improved.

What distinguishes my rods from everything that can be found on the market are my rod handles. Invented and perfected by me, the design of my “Signature” rod handles is unique. As I know, I am the only rod maker in the world creating such rod handles. Stabilised ancient wood inserts combined with the best Portuguese cork means they not only look beautiful but they transfer vibrations to the hand of the fisherman much better than all cork or foam handles, which significantly increase the sensitivity of a rod. They also allow me to personalise each rod to the highest possible level.

As each handle is created and tailored individually to the hand of the client, I have the opportunity to incorporate an item that means something special for you, like a tag from a collar of your beloved dog, your lucky fly, or anything else that you treasure, and fit it into the wooden insert of your rod.

This way, next to being a perfectly reliable fishing tool, your rod becomes an item of highly personal and sentimental value and will carry your memories and emotions whenever you go enjoy fishing.
